Most D1 wins (football+basketball combined) 2011-12
43) Kentucky (38 basketball, 5 football)
40) Michigan State (29 basketball, 11 football)
40) Baylor (30 basketball, 10 football)
39) Ohio (29 basketball, 10 football)
39) North Carolina (32 basketball, 7 football)
39) Syracuse (34 basketball, 5 football)
38) Missouri (30 basketball, 8 football)
37) Louisville (30 basketball, 7 football)
37) Ohio State (31 basketball, 6 football)
37) Southern Miss (25 basketball, 12 football)

-Ohio is tied for 4th with North Carolina and Syracuse for most combined football and basketball wins. North Carolina and Syracuse are also peer academic institutions.

-Ohio had a great year in 2011-12. 2012-13 may even be better with 30 wins in basketball and 12 in football. That will be very hard to top unless that school's name is Kentucky.

-With success in the NCAA tournament Ohio is now known simply as Ohio but Ohio State is now referred nationally as "State"

Bold predictions for your first statement. I guarantee it won't happen.

Secondly, I have not once seen 0$U referred to as "State".

Which is obviously slanted toward schools with good basketball teams...

EMU will prevent Ohio from 12 wins in football (I'm assuming LK meant before a win in the MACC and a BCS bowl game for a total of 14, by my count 03-lmfao).

OSU really needs to work on their football program.

Pretty soon they will be that 'other' school in central Ohio. 04-chairshot (can I change these colors - the chair shot should be GREEN for Ohio and the other SCARLETT for OSU).

I kid you not....people are now calling O$U "State"

Quote:Now that we made it to the sweet 16 it is a whole new story. I have been in line at grocery stores hearing people talk about how OHIO ruined their brackets. I hear people at work talking about how impressive OHIO looked playing UNC.

Yesterday, I overheard some of the younger guys that work for me saying to one another "State looks good I think they are going to beat Kansas." I replied did you just say State for Ohio St? His response was yeah boss, we can't confuse that school with your OHIO so we decided just to call them State and take the OHIO out because that's the Bobcats.
