During the most recent board conversion, you posted a picture of you working at your computer desk. In the picture, I noted some rather cool looking books with amost gothic bindings. I beleive they were located on the right side of your book shelf maybe 3rd or 4th shelf. What are they?

Pretty cool. Even though I decided that a Kindle is the way to go for reading books, I really like books like that to decorate the house.

Thanks!

A very well made leatherbound book with foil edges and silk bookmark sewn into the binding for under $20. Most of them have several books in one... no price increase.

What OS (or flavor of Linux) are you using on the leftmost terminal? That looks pretty cool.

I always liked to use a bookshelf as a kind of trophy case of good stuff (and some bad) that I had read. But those bound ones are a nice to touch.

Do you always keep a pistol on your bookcase?

All three are ArchLinux, but that is actually Finch ... the command line interface for Pidgin. So I have IRC/Y!/AIM/Twitter/FB Chat all in that terminal... but the cool thing is Finch has a windowing system for the terminal.... so I can slide windows around resize etc so I can have like 15 windows open. For bonus effect I run Finch in a screen session so I can securely connect from remote over SSH. When I'm out of town I always just SSH back to resume the screen session. Locally I use yakuake, when is a Quake-like terminal. So I press F12 and down it comes from the top of the screen, like pressing tilde in a first person shooter game. Press F12 and away it goes without taking up a spot in the task manager. It also supports tabbed terminals. So when F12 down, I have finch, SSH to the CSN server, and all kinds of other stuff running in various terminals.

No, the Glock .45 follows me to the car.

Basically, he's like the dude behind the curtain in "Wizard of Oz", except for he actually gets stuff done.

Just having said that, I'm quite surprised he doesn't have an endorsement deal with a certain drink company who "gets stuff done".
