My guess is the ceremony will be 04/21/12 @ the spring game (not a confirmed date) but actual work will begin before then...IF we can get another 400k pledged by the HASF kickoff.
I am assuming the HASF kickoff will be January 28, since there are no weekend BB games in February. Getting 400K by then from ordinary fans may be a bit tough since nothing has yet been mailed or communicated to ordinary fans. Maybe Hy-Vee or another sponsor will step up and they won't even need to contact the ordinary folks.
I asked about the date and will let all know asap.
I don't think they would do it before signing day otherwise the FB coaches would not likely be able to attend and that would be disappointing to me.

Any idea where the donation(s) to go from 7.5 to 8.2 came from?

If they don't do it on January 28, then it will have to be scheduled on its own or before a women's game. I certainly don't think they'd do it on a weekday, but nothing Athletics does really surprises me anymore.
I guess since basketball does not attract anyone anyway, maybe they'll just pick a Saturday in February if it's not on January 28. Too bad if that's the case because they always give out free basketball tickets, and our BB team can really use the support.

It will likely NOT be the Feb 4th or 18th as VE Court has afternoon home matches that day for Gymnastics and Wrestling...Dog Fan joke in 3...2...1...
Maybe they could just not have the kickoff in VE Court and in a different room in the Convo.

I will not joke about our dear gymnastics and wrestling teams. I have way too much respect for them...especially the women's gymnastics and wrestling teams.
I do have a solution that I would like to offer. I can rent a nice back room in the Paperback Grotto, and we can have the HASF kickoff there. They can serve cocktail weenies and cream soda. We can have on-screen entertainment of some good scoring. Perhaps the cheerleaders can do flexibility demonstrations. For the most perfect marketing, Athletics can post banners for the event around campus stating that it's "First Come, First Served".

Great ideas Dog Fan! I'll donate and drive all the way from Portland to see those ideas work! I'd like to be "served" again and again!

Hmmm...was hoping it was Michael Turner, Larry English, or Doug Free. They've been collecting big paychecks as of late.
