Southern Mississippi basketball coach Larry Eustachy said he expects signee Dwayne Brown to arrive in Hattiesburg for the school's second summer session.
Brown, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Kingston, Jamaica, recently graduated from Southeastern Illinois Junior College and is expected to compete for a starting position this season.
He is the first of Southern Miss' five signees from junior college to graduate. The others - guards Rashaad Carruth, Michael Ford and Solomon Brown and forward Shakiem Mitchell - are completing degree requirements during summer school at their respective junior colleges.
Eustachy said the Golden Eagles' two high school signees - Demar Dotson of Alexandria, La., and Merkel Marshall of Jackson - appear headed for junior college.
