Quote:For several months, FSU fans have inundated various members of the media with e-mails and letters in response to their criticism of the school's administration on the McPherson matter. As a counter-argument, FSU faithful often cited the lack of comparable coverage by the media when gambling allegations surfaced two years ago with Florida basketball standout Teddy Dupay.

Of course, what the Seminoles semi-forgot was Florida didn't procrastinate -- unlike FSU -- in dealing with Dupay, who also had less of a rap sheet on him than McPherson. An investigation into Dupay's activity was launched in late May and he was declared ineligible for his senior year on Sept. 7, 2001. Had he been a football player, Dupay likely wouldn't have been on the field for any games that season.
