The thing about Ohio State vs Alabama, assuming Ohio State wins the CCG today ... If i switch their schedules, i can imagine Alabama having the wins that Ohio State has. For example, Alabama beating Wisconsin? Sure that could happen. Not 100% sure it would, but it's a plausible outcome if they play.
The one thing that doesn't compute is Ohio State losing by 31 to Iowa.
Could anyone here honestly say that they think there's any within-the-bounds-of-reason chance that Alabama would lose by 31 to Iowa? Not me.
So it has to be Alabama if it comes down to that.
Let's put it another way shall we. Ohio State didn't lose by 31 to Penn State, Michigan, or Michigan State. They lost to an also ran in the worst division in college football by 31 points and they lost at home by 15 to Oklahoma. The only reason they are still in the conversation is that ESPN is desperate for eyeballs from the Big 10.
Personally I think Wisconsin beats them today and ends this worthless talking point.
If Bama is to luck into a slot it would be because T.C.U. beats Oklahoma and Clemson destroys Miami.
Good point about Oklahoma. Excellent team, but hard to picture Alabama losing by 15 at home to them or anyone else either.
I think Alabama's defense would have beaten Oklahoma. But the reason Alabama has to hope for a break to get into the CFP is because we whipped them.
ESPN can't imagine a world that doesn't have Alabama and Ohio State in it. But as an Auburn guy who spent his younger years in Michigan, I live for a world without both every year! But don't count me a Wolverine fan. Duffy's Spartans were the second team back then.
