No, that's not what we're saying at all. The poster claimed Obama "threatened to shut down a network". Obama never did anything of the sort. Now, if the poster was just talking about what you posted, then that's a different story. But it doesn't appear that was his intent as he doubled-down and did not say as much when asked.

Shutting them out is effectively the same thing. And ONLY Obama has actually shut someone out, instead of merely tweeting about it.

But that doesn't comport with trump's words.

Excusing trump's ignorance of this 'license,' it's pretty clear he's talking about keeping them from functioning at all as a news agency.

No, the license is their dozen or so owned TV stations. They could remain as a news agency and even as a network. But it would cost them.
