Since my wife is a teacher, I'll kindly disagree that schools employ the dumbest effers in our society.

What my wife would tell you is that the kids are getting noticeably worse by the year, but to me it seems about the same as I hear it told every night. Twenty five kids will equal 5 smart ones, 5 idiots, 5 who could do the work but simply elect not to do anything, and 10 kids that are destined to be C students no matter what or how much attention you give them. The smart ones have smarter (college educated or professional type jobs) parents while the others have parents who often say things like "I didn't do good in school either" or "I don't know what to do with him, he don't do his work at home either".

It really isn't the fault of schools in most cases that kids and then adults don't recall simple things like the three branches of government...
It's because they grew up without education as a priority. If your parents don't impress upon you that your education matters...then education doesn't matter.

Being a parent is THE most important job on earth. Too bad a majority of people don't make parenting their priority, see kids as cute playthings, see kids as a meal ticket, see kids as an obstacle to doing what they want, etc. Thus for them parenting is as a part-time job at best — somewhere behind their smart phone, live-in boyfriend, and Keeping Up with the Kardasians.

Lot's of kids are doomed as soon as they leave the womb not because of poverty or disability but because their parents are idiots.
