Yes, for a bowl. But they couldn't pick them for a NY6 bowl if they won their conference. With a (very possibly) enough shortage of standard bowl-eligible teams, they would be allowed in. I'm sure ESPN would finagle to set something up if they were 12-0 to play a top mid-major who didn't get to get into the NY6 bowl, to at least give them a nice one.

Obviously I don't see it happening, but if they won out with basically an identical schedule as every other G5 schedule it would make for some interesting debate. I'm honestly not sure why this is counted as a transitional year if they are playing a full conference schedule and only 1 FCS team.

Them's just the rules. IDK what sense it makes.

They play UAB, UMASS, W. Illinois & 9 Sun Belt games. Even if they won out the rest of the G5 champs would have to have 2 or maybe three losses for them to be picked even if they weren't in transition.
