And you reference it in a game you lost in? That kinda doesn't help your position. But there is more to a passer than total yards. I for one would start with completion percentage which doesn't put Fine on top in conference. Don't get me wrong, he's a decent QB, but your claim is kinda far fetched based on total passing yards.
I agree, one category does not show the whole picture. But my claim isn't based on just one stat. That is just the stat I used in a larger explanation of our offense. Fine leads all C-USA QBs in total passing yards (648 per game), yards per attempt (9.5 yards per pass), and touchdowns (6 TDs). Right now, Fines combined numbers are better then any others in C-USA.
648 per game!! Wow! You is gonna kill us all!
Ha! Fixed it (324 yards per game). Sometimes I type too fast and don't review.
Regardless, 324 yards per game still leads all other QBs in our conference at the moment.
A note to consider, our QB has only played 4 quarters. So the numbers are somewhat misleading.
A few teams are in the same position, including North Texas. Mason Fine has only played in about 6 quarters through 2 games. He only saw the field for one drive in the second half of our week 1 game. Fine could easily be averaging over 400 yards passing per game. Southern Miss has played Griggs and Howard in their first 2 games.
