Same reason that Grand Canyon will struggle to find a real conference.
Liberty might end up overshadowing them in football, but this decision was not a football decision.
I've said the same thing about having concern over the online enrollment figures.
The only thing is that as a whole the institution is roughly on par with those in CUSA.
Academically??? I'm honestly insulted. It's a shiny diploma mill.
US NEws, whose entire business model is now ranking colleges, has Liberty as "NAtioinal Universities, Tier 2, Rank Not Published."
Gonna compare to a semi-random sample of CUSA--ODU, FIU, UAB, UNT, UTSA.
ODU #210 (tie)
FIU. RNP, Tier 2.
UAB. #159
UNT. RNP, Tier 2.
UTSA. RNP, Tier 2.
Checking to see what the bottom of the scale is, Chicago STate is "Regional Universities Midwest Tier 2.
If you want to check what SAT/ACT scores you need to get into Liberty vs others, you can do that. US News gives their acceptance rate as 21%, which was way more selective than I'd expected. Compare to Old Dominion with an 83% acceptance rate.
Who in the world are the 4 in 5 Liberty University applicants who get rejected?
Minorities, atheists, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Buddhists, Democrats, Independents, self-hating Republicans, commies, socialists, Malaccans, Russian bots, and Teletubbies. Unless they have cash, then they can attend online.
I'm fairly surprised that they're applying.
