The Saudis screwed themselves years ago not cutting production as other members of OPEC wanted in order to drive up the price per barrel. They gambled on keeping market share knowing the U.S. was looking for alternate oil reserves. Throw in Iran re-entering the global market and you have a glutton of oil supply right now. We can enjoy the ride of low gas prices for the short term definitely.
