We don't know how good of an X&O coach Jans is just yet. We (Aggie fans) suspect he is an upgrade from Menzies (unimaginative) and Weir (greenhorn). And, I might goes as far as to say Jans could be one of the best X&O coaches in the WAC. But that's about the most we should say right now.

I guess you haven't been listening to Wichita State fans. Maybe you should. If the guy won 20 games at Bowling Green, you have to be a good X's and O's coach. Just saying. If it wasn't for his incident, the guy would be head coach at a big time P5 program right now so if I was you I would just calm down.
Majrele has won 20 games the past two season and he is a terrible x's and o's guy, so your point is moot

Majrele wouldn't win 20 games at Bowling Green. That is my point. Chris Jans led Bowling Green to their 2nd 20 win season in over 30 years with mediocre basketball squad in his first year. Jans is inheriting a very good basketball team at NMSU. He inherited two WAC Player of the Year Candidates, the best sixth man in the WAC, a solid 6'10 forward, and the 80th rated 2015 recruit. We know he can coach. We know he'll be able to recruit better players to NMSU than he did at Bowling Green. Aggie basketball is going to be fun to watch the next couple of years.

Obviously you didn't really research the team Jans coached at Bowling Green. He coached an NBA 2nd round draft pick in Richaun Holmes (6'10", 245-lbs) in that one season at Bowling Green. Jans just made better use of that team's talent than the previous coach (Louis Orr). Orr left Jans talent to work with that season.

To be honest, I don't think Jans has much more talent on this Aggie squad than the one he had to work with at Bowling Green. He will need to add more capable bodies if he wants to match what the Traitor did last season.

I disagree with you. If Bowling Green had just as much talent, they would have not finished in last place in the MAC in 2014 and 2016. It was the coaching ability of Chris Jans for Bowling Green success in 2015, and why Richaun Holmes turned into a NBA draft pick. Let's give Chris Jans the credit he deserves.
