The Plainfield, Ill. native went 2-4 in Friday's 16-2 win over Toledo, drawing two walks and scoring three runs. In Saturday's come from behind victory, Dunham went 3-4 with a walk and a key sacrifice fly in the Huskies ' three-run eighth inning to tie the game at 4-4. On Sunday, the freshman catcher went 4-4 with an RBI single in the third for NIU's first run and he scored twice in the sweep clinching 9-3 win on Sunday. After the weekend, Dunham now owns NIU's best batting average at .442, earning not only a consistent starting spot in the Huskie lineup but hits in the cleanup position.

I know some on here don't care or would rather complain about everything that is NIU athletics bit I thought this was pretty cool for a freshman to win it in his first weekend of conference play.

Thank you! and to a much bigger point, NIU athletics has been KILLING it the past couple years minus football and mens bball. Volleyball won the MAC and the MAC tourney to go to the NCAA's, women's basketball made it to the MAC title game and WNIT, wrestling had 5 NCAA participants, 3 of which made the quarter finals and those three all finished in the top 25 in the end of season rankings. Softball is projected to win the MAC this year. Baseball is off to a great start sweeping Toledo and beat Michigan. The NIU men's golf team shot -3 on the final day of the FAU Slomin Autism Invitational with a 285, tied for the second-best round of the tournament, and finished 5th out of 13 teams in Florida, and only two shots back from the top 4 (those damn early rounds will get you), oh and we happen to be hosting the effin NCAA golf championships. Women's cross country had their first ever NCAA invite and broke NUMEROUS school distance records. Track and Field had their fastest times EVER in 5 separate events this past season and our among the MAC favorites for the outdoor season coming up. Women's gymnastics had their highest score EVER and had the all around MAC athlete of the year, the MAC uneven bar champion, and the MAC coach of the year.

What i'm saying is that among all the negativity around football, mens bball, and for some reason our AD, NIU athletics is doing exactly what STF wanted them to and that's get better in the other sports we have. Our trajectory is to be the best or among the best in every single sport we participate in. Now if only mens bball could catch up. (I'm not worried about football yet, we need a healthy year for once).
