The MWC would be a great fit for Gonzaga, if they were interested. It's an almost identical play for the MWC as the Wichita St. to the AAC move. The MWC has great fan support for basketball, but has slipped to a one bid league the past two years and could really benefit from the juice that Gonzaga would bring.

I agree. The MWC currently has the exact same makeup as the American, with 11 full members and 1 football affiliate, and could have a more balanced basketball schedule with 1 more non-football playing member. They also each have a military academy.

The main difference is that Gonzaga is currently in a conference with a better RPI than the MWC (although if you move Gonzaga to the MWC it would leapfrog the WCC), and they are also currently in a conference full of private schools...
