CSUB (WAC) vs. Colorado State (MWC)
Ok Runners. This game is a huge game not only for CSUB's program but the perception of the WAC. Even though the WAC had a winning record of 4-3 vs. MWC (should have been 6-1 since NMSU blew one vs. CSU and UVU vs. Utah State), they still have the pretentious notion that they are heads and tails above the WAC. The WAC is definitely on the rise based on our performance vs. our non conference schedule, facility upgrades, attendance throughout, and WAC tourney attendance improvement. The WAC championship game was upgraded from ESPNN to ESPNU. I imagine with the addition of GCU to tourney next year I wouldn't doubt we make ESPN2 and have great crowds. Hurd probably would secretly love to see a NMSU/GCU championship game cause the Orleans would actually resemble more the WCC tourney games attendance wise instead of the empty WAC games of the past. The MWC had a whopping 5000+ in Vegas at the Thomas & Mack for their championship game. Anyway CSUB, go and blow out CSU and make the new WAC proud vs. basically old WAC with a new name, the Mountain West Conference.
