Ok let me first say ODU didn't deserve to win after falling down 19-2. Fought like hell to get back in it and actually probably should have won. But Marshall was probably the better team. When I look at the box score 2 things stand out.

First Marshall was 14-20 from the line ODU 3-6. This is not a new thing, we consistently either ARE fouling way more than the other team or just get called for the fouls then complain about it. But how is this not being addressed. We are fouling like crazy and putting them at the line. Also ODU has got to be the worst FT shooting team I have ever seen. IDK what else to say about it other than if you don't make free throws you don't win, simple as that and this has been the worst year for that. 75% should be the team minimum, we've had games where we shoot under 50% as a team.

Second from the box score is that while Baker and Taylor were good players they were both just to inconsistent offensively as seniors. Combine for 11 pts tonight but often times this year one would put up 0 and the other single digits. Not that they don't do other things and are above average defenders but we really needed more points from both and they just couldn't get them for us. Both are good kids but it just was not in the cards for them. Tough way to go out.

All that being said, I don't really care if JJ comes back or not but we actually do have a lot of young solid players. Caver, Talley, BJ and Porter will be JRs. Branden is now a senior. and we have some freshman either redshirting or true freshman that could possibly make us a good team next year and the year after. Always could get a grad transfer that could change things. Let's stay optimistic and don't forget ODU was picked to finish 7th in the preseason
