San Diego Could Have The Largest Conference Margin Of Defeat Again
Last night Gonzaga won 96-38 at San Diego. San Diego lost by 58, which is the biggest margin of defeat in a Division I Men's Basketball conference game since San Diego lost 91-33 at Brigham Young on February 20, 2016. If there are no more blowouts in conference play, San Diego will have the biggest margin of defeat in a conference game for the second consecutive season. The last conference game with a margin of victory of more than 58 was Louisville's 92-31 win over Rutgers on March 13, 2014 in the American Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. The last conference game before a conference tournament with a margin of victory of more than 58 was Virginia Commonwealth's 112-53 win hosting Towson on January 27, 2010.
