Also as was stated the effectiveness of yelling/screaming/raising your voice is all about how it is used. If someone who is mainly composed starts yelling, you are going to listen to figure out what has that person irate. If the person is always screaming about everything, you are much more prone to tune it out over time, and no matter how useful the point was it won't be an effective technique.
