Quote:The UN has dropped the superhero Wonder Woman as an ambassador for empowering girls and women after a brief stint that drew widespread criticism.

The campaign around the comic book character, who turned 75 this autumn, lasted for less than two months. Among its key aims were challenging female stereotypes and fighting discrimination and violence against women and girls.

There is your problem right there.

No matter who you pick feminists will complain. Pick a chubby, plain-looking woman and they'll complain about stereotypes of feminists not being attractive. Pick an attractive woman and it's "objectification" and "unreasonable body standards".

The whole idea that having some "Strong" female character being a fictional ambassador is going to do anything to get votes for women in developing countries or make another woman CEO in the west is so dumb to begin with. As if anyone pays attention the joke UN in the first place.

Reading this kind of chit is like reading some satirical novel.
