Getting big-name, out-of-state teams willing to come play at Rice hardly ever happens anymore. I was really looking forward to seeing Stanford play here and ideally getting to be part of a decent Rice Stadium crowd (kind of like the UCLA game). Although not so much over the last couple seasons, we are usually quite competitive when playing the bigger schools at home.

Moving that game to Australia kills whatever little excitement is left about next year's home schedule. This makes me more upset than bringing Coach Bailiff back. Irregardless of the money to be made, it's a slap in the face to us fans who are desperate to see Rice play more attractive, name-recognition opponents at home.

Unbelievable.

More money to find a better coaching staff. I think y'all are missing the point here... it's all about the $. We obviously don't care about wins or we wouldn't have brought Bailiff back for another season. So take the 7 figures and run.
