Seems very doubtful that it is public knowledge. If it was a wise or needed move, what difference would the state budget crisis make? Seriously, the budget crisis is going to be increased or lessened by that move? Not making it public makes it sound more like something being glossed over.
Because you believe moves like this are public knowledge, can you -- or anyone else on here -- tell me if any other Huskie coaches going into the 2016-17 season have had contracts extended or broken?
