Now they would lose 21 wins off their overall record but be forced to keep the 5 losses on their record...I heard on the radio it knocks them down to 3rd or 4th place overall. If the losses mean nothing to ADs / Former Players / Alumni, why did Penn State fight for Jo Pa's wins back?

Penn State ---- the institution (individual alums are a different story, of course) --- did not "fight for JoePa's wins back."

In fact, the institution was credited by George Mitchell in his reports to the NCAA, in terms of (a) abiding by the consent decree, (b) not entering into the various lawsuits other parties (Jake Corman, the Paterno family) filed against the NCAA, and © not arguing against the NCAA penalties at any point in the process.

Again, I can't and won't defend some individual alums and the likes of Jay Paterno. But I thought the post-July 2012 PSU administration has done --- on the whole (there have been some missteps, I'm talking about the aggregate) --- a good job.
