RE: MW Commissioner says expansion is possible regardless of Big 12 expansion
Win-Win? (Someone on this forum with friends in MWC high places please forward these thoughts to your MWC Commissioner.....Thanks in advance). (:>) Just For Fun > > > > > http://www.meangreensports.com/

Add these 4 Texas schools & inflate The Mountain West Conference TV market ($$$$$$) dramatically along with new bowl switchover possibilities for the MWC (as in the Heart of Dallas Bowl for starters; that is, a bowl game which is presently a CUSA host team versus a Big 10 opponent plus.......a bowl game that North Texas had 36,000 Mean Green fans attend 2 New Years Day's ago).
? ? ? ? Anyone in the MWC want to play a Big 10 school in a bowl game?

* These 4 MWC add-on's would continue burgeoning rivalries in their time zone & the Mountain West time zone is workable for any of these schools.

Possible 4 New MWC East Members:

*North Texas (bowl bound this season--UNT's last bowl was on January 1, 2014 & went to 4 bowl games last decade). Note: Quick! Someone who knows MWC powers that be have them call our new, progressive & the most affable UNT AD Wren Baker now! LOL!

*UTEP (a former WAC program with the legacy of having a NCAA National Championship in basketball).

*UTSA (a growing, progressive athletic program from a fun city that is bowl bound this season)

* Rice (why not add an Ivy League kind of presence to the MWC with an out of orbit financial endowment allowing it to do anything athletic-wise it damn well pleases).

4 New Top 100 TV Markets For the MWC (with 2 in the Top 10):

5 Dallas-Ft. Worth 2,588,020 *D-FW soon to surpass Philadelphia to become 4'th ranked TV market plus 2 G-5 bowl games in this TV market already--HOD Bowl (Cotton Bowl Stadium) & Armed Services Bowl (Amon Carter Stadium, Fort Worth)

10 Houston 2,215,650 Rice U (An Ivy League'esque presence & why not a Space City bowl game with MWC ties)?

36 San Antonio 881,050 A growing UTSA football program with its Alamo Bowl Stadium & possibilities for a MWC bowl even if its a 2'nd bowl game in the Alamo City--great destination city for visiting fans, too.

91 El Paso 339,130 (UTEP already has a history with several MWC programs).
