I understand the sentiment here, particularly because this situation was locally handled so poorly, but bypassing checks and balances in the name of expediency is a VERY SLIPPERY SLOPE. And one that I hold zero trust in our current Federal administration to make a "break the rules" decision for the correct, human, reasons, vice those very political ones they so seem to embrace.
