The SEC And Its Scheduling Advantage Strategy
Its pretty obvious that the SEC has advantages even the other P5 conferences don't have. But IMO its based on a scheduling strategy "unfairness" that has existed for a long time. We used to criticise Arkansas for doing this, but in reality almost all the SEC teams practice it. The fact is they very seldom go on the road and play a non-conference game at the opponent venue. Here is what will occur this season.
Team----------------Home Games--------Neutral Site---------Away
Alabama----------------7----------------------1-------------------4*
LSU---------------------7----------------------1-------------------4*
Miss---------------------7----------------------1-------------------4*
Auburn------------------8----------------------0-------------------4*
T AM--------------------7----------------------1--------------------4*
Ark----------------------7----------------------1--------------------4*
MSU---------------------6----------------------0--------------------6
Tennessee--------------7----------------------1--------------------4*
Georgia-----------------6----------------------2---------------------4*
Florida------------------7----------------------1---------------------4*
Missouri----------------7-----------------------0---------------------5
Kentucky---------------7-----------------------0---------------------5
Vandy-------------------6----------------------0---------------------6
So Carolina-------------7----------------------0---------------------5
Total--------------------96---------------------9---------------------63
*These teams (9 of the 14) only played away games inside the SEC where they are required to do so and had no away games outside conference.
