What a total crock of BS.

Let's just take one example:

Quote:They screwed you a thousand ways on trade, and exported your job.
They screwed you on tax policy by lowering taxes on the rich.

The reason jobs are leaving is because our tax rates for corporations are the highest in the world and our tax rates for the "rich" are among the highest (and would be the highest under Bernie's plan). So corporations and "rich" people move investment--and jobs--overseas to be taxed at lower rates. Has little or nothing to do with free trade or other trade policy, was going on before we entered into any of the trade agreements that are alleged to have caused the problem, and will continue until we fix the true underlying causes.

OK, OK, I know you're going to say, "But the effective rates are less than the statutory rate." Of course, but that just proves my point. They get lower rates by moving economic activity overseas where the rates are lower. But the author doesn't have the integrity to admit that, because doing so would undermine his demagoguery.

Most of the other comments are similarly off base. For one thing, very few of the things that "republicans" are alleged to have done were done without equal and enthusiastic participation by democrats. The bottom line is that BOTH parties have screwed the average American. Note that I'm not making these comments from a pro-republican point of view. I hate republicans too. But comments to the effect that either
1) the things commented upon have actually produced the results alleged, or
2) they are solely, or even primarily, the work of one party,
are blatantly dishonest and disingenuous.

Anybody stupid enough to fall for this crock of BS does not understand what is happening.
