RE: Should Coach K Add Billy Donlon to His Staff?

We could use some of that in our basketball programs. No one should be out-recruiting us in the MAC. We put fans in the stands. Tradition rich in men's basketball - but you have to go back almost 40 years now.
We maybe should not be critical of their AD but rather asking what ours is doing to improve our programs? My opinion is that we accept mediocrity as long as we are graduating players and not having any more scandals or other problems. Those are admirable - but winning while doing those things as well doesn't seem to be out of the question to ask for.
I agree. I refuse to accept an "either/or" dilemma that says we can either graduate all/almost all of our athletes, with B grade average or better, and as model citizens of the community, OR we can win MAC championships. Seems to me quite a few MAC schools have somehow found a way to do both, including in non-revenue sports. How many MAC championships, in anything, have we won over the past 5 seasons? Not counting Division titles I'm going to guess its about 3.
Patting ourselves on the back for having teams of great young men & women seems odd...there are MANY college students who are great young men & women, including many who aren't athletes.
We did have some character/academic issues and they needed to be addressed...as should be expected. Certainly better than before. But no banners for that.
