Some were defensive line and some linebackers:

We played a pretty tough schedule in the 70s

-Ron Simmons 3 time All American at Florida State became a famous pro wrestler Farooq Asaad and finished 9th in Heisman voting
-Jacob Greene Texas A&M. I checked and he had over 20 sacks his Senior Year. I can only hope I didn't add to that total
-Linebacker Otis Wilson at Louisville who became an All Pro linebacker with the Bears winning the Super Bowl in 85
-Linebacker Johnnie Cooks at Mississippi State. Second overall pick in the first round.
-Linebacker Reggie Herring Florida State

I still remember reading about that A&M game. What was your reaction to playing there? My granddaughter is an Aggie.

That was the 78 game where we got annihilated at College Station. I came in that December from Junior College right after that season. We played them at home in 79, and should have won that game. We had a very good team in 79, beat Mississippi State in Jackson and lost a close game to Ole Miss the next week 38-34 at a standing room only Liberty Bowl. We had a lot of injuries and a QB controversy and ended up 5-6 against a very tough schedule.

Other players did tell me College Station was the most intimidating atmosphere they had played in. Everybody standing the whole game and yelling organized cheers. Freaked em out a little. That's one thing I tell most people is you only hear one side of the stands when you are at the game. When you are on the field it's 360 degrees of deafening noise.

I can't remember his name, but I remember the TAMU running back taking a handoff on the first play and running it 80 yards for a TD.
