So, any argument that the ACC is the best is entirely dependent on the northern cities that just joined the conference. Yes, cajun is awesome and the BBQ is fantastic, but things like bread are horrible. You can't get a decent loaf of French bread or hard rolls anywhere in the south. Its all mushy and soft. Are there any good bakeries down south, deep fried donuts, notwithstanding? Steak places in the south, outside of Texas, pale in comparison to their northern counterparts. Go to a place like Plaza III in KC or 5 o'clock steakhouse in Milwaukee and compare it to the seared fat you get in Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami or Orlando. Ponderosa would be a 5 star restaurant in the south. Then, you have the range of food offerings in the north. What does the south offer that can compare to a Chicago Italian Beef or slice of NY pizza? BTW, the west coast is nothing special either. Yes, you have pockets of great food in LA and SF, but cities like San Jose and Phoenix offer pretty much nothing.
Face it, NY is the food mecca of the country. There is NY and everyone else. Chicago is a distant second. The large metro areas on the east coast and the midwest all have the strengths. You can't compare a Charlotte or Nashville to cities like KC, Philly or even Milwaukee. The range and quality of the food up north is far superior (of course, with the exception of ribs and cajun food).
Question: Why would you want hard rolls? Do you miss the army?
If you are serious, google it. One of life's simple pleasures.
