For the first time this year, our runs per game average has dropped below 6.0 (from a high of nearly 6.5 runs/game a little over a month ago), and our team .303 AVG is the lowest it's been ALL season (dropping 5 points in just the last week).
Just guessing, but facing two ranked teams on the road over four games might lower your runs per game average and batting average, even if you won 3 of 4.
FAU starting pitching was not that good, and we were 4-hit by UH's #4 starter (and no-hit, with just one baserunner, by their top two relievers over the final 4.2 innings). Runs per game has been on the decline for the last 4 - 5 weeks....and in the case of both the Western Kentucky and FAU series, at least half of the runs we did score were unearned. Can't we call a spade a spade, and acknowledge that the offense (save for 2 - 3 guys) are in a mini-slump?
