I understand your point, John, but this really isn't an accurate measurement of a fanbase, wouldn't you agree? IMO, the flaw in this methodology, like the other survey we discussed recently that was predicated on Facebook "Likes", is that it leads some to make a generalized opinion about a fanbase based on a limited data set that is not necessarily reflective of the broader makeup of a typical fanbase.
To illustrate my point, IMO, this is like making an assessment on the overall likelihood of a presidential candidate winning an election by just sampling the college vote. Sure, the numbers are interesting, but, by themselves, they don't provide a true picture as to the strength of the candidate.
IMO, surveys like this are interesting, but hardly conclusive. They are fun to discuss, as long as people realize this point.
