Memphis NCAA Tournament Appearances
By Decade
50's - 2
60's - 1
70's - 2
80's - 7 (5 vacated)
90's - 4
00's - 6 (1 vacated)
Pastner - 4

Most Consecutive NCAA Appearances
5: 1982-86 (all vacated)
4: 2006-09 (1 vacated)
4: Pastner

With an NCAA appearance this year, Pastner will have both records in his first 6 seasons...assuming you don't count the vacated years.

Tournament was harder to make in the 50s, 60s and 70s doe. Until 1975 you had to win the conference title. Those USC teams that went 24-4 just couldn't beat UCLA. Maryland in 1974 couldn't beat NC State. In the 50s the NIT was just as prestigious as the NCAA. Even mentioning the vacated stuff is beyond stupid. We all know there's been selective enforcement. Hell Rupps teams were throwing games, Frank McGuire was paying kids from New York to go to Tobacco Road and let's not even bring up the name Sam Gilbert.

The bottom line is this basketball program has a better history than some of you make it. If you want to make it look bad for your agenda which is love for the current coach go ahead.
