Deer breaks through glass door at school
Quote:An Elizabeth City officer captured video of a deer breaking through a glass door after it ran inside an elementary school and became trapped.

Monday around 2 p.m., Elizabeth City Police Department officers responded to Sheep-Harney Elementary School after a deer ran into the building.

Officers found the deer trapped inside the front entrance door area. According to police, the deer was hemorrhaging from the mouth. The animal was hopping around trying to escape until it eventually was able to break through the glass door. It then ran off along Elizabeth Street, said police.

The school was evacuated while police responded. No children or school staff were injured.

A responding officer was able to capture the incident on video.

Funny how podunk Elizabeth City has cameras to show a deer going through the glass door, but there weren't any cameras at ritzy Newtown to see Adam Lanza going through the glass door. Interesting.
