They (nonGreeks and vic versa) can't that's not their fault nor ours. It's a natural primitive response, revolutionized into modern human society: If you don't understand something, you shun it away or hate it. We all do it subconsciously, always have and always will. The only way this will end is through the spread of education via an open dialogue, which leads to non-judgement upon others, which leads acceptance and tolerance to other lifestyle. Whether it's a Muslim, an homosexual, the girl that doesn't shave her legs and plays the banjo in the quad, or Greek and nonGreek students, such criticism, judgement, and prejudice of somebody else's lifestyle will never end if others aren't willing to open up and listen; to be educated.
