It is not a popular move with the huge majority of MT fans. Most MT fans do not want this agreement. Maybe the MT powers think it is a great idea, our AD seems to be in love with the idea of playing games in Bridgestone, but most fans think we give away too much in deals like this.

This is one more case of the problem nonBCS schools have in negotiating with Power Conference teams. The "PC" teams have the lion's share of money so they can play off the peasant teams against each other to get the agreements they want. If MTSU had said no, AU would simply have gone to another similar level school and perhaps gotten an even better deal.

Companies do this all the time when they want to build a new facility - the states line up to outbid each other with tax favors as bait. To paraphrase the old song - "If you have the money honey, I'll make the time".
