Across the board and historically, JUCO's just really don't pan out.
There are exceptions, but most JUCO's that end up succeeding had a special issue. (ie Chris Jones not getting out of his loi with UTk...)
Times are a changing...
With the rules change for HS'ers with the number of classes they can replace on their HS transcripts it is forcing more and more players into JUCO and since PROP48 has been gone for a loooooong time you really cant get too many guys who don't qualify to sit out for you a year on your bench.
I am not sure but I bet many of our Laurneburg class would not have made it on campus with todays rules.
Yeah, but look at the offers the L'burg guys had coming out of HS. Most of these guys coming in were offered from Sun Belt and CUSA schools.
It's just a matter of which side one wants to argue.
Many posters from both sides of the spectrum note that a JUCO's 1st year is generally a wash, so don't expect a whole bunch, but now they will tout how much of an impact these guys can make.
Then (to argue against other programs) folks will point to offers as a measure of how "good" a player is/should be. Except if they come here, then it is "coach has an eye for talent."
