That question won't be a problem for a few months, anyways. Tennessee has, thankfully, a much more rigorous ccw permit process than Alabama.
As far as I'm aware, TN has the most recognized ccw permit in the union. Even many states that TN does not have reciprocation agreements with recognize TN ccw permits.
As a point of information, TN does NOT have a CCW law.
There is NO requirement that the gun be "concealed." I assume CCW is just a catch-all for handgun carry.
I'm aware. Was using CCW as a reference for the law (and keeping with the vernacular used by the poster that I was responding to)
You can wear it on your hip if you want although i think that's a bit silly. The gun on your hip is the first thing a bad guy would go for if someone was really out to do you harm.
Interesting. In Alabama there is open carry and concealed carry. Open carry is a separate permit that is actually more difficult to get.
If you have your carry permit in TN, you can open carry or conceal - your choice.
There are not a lot of states that have open carry w/ a permit outside of law enforcement.
