Just guessing, but something like 50K, 30K, 62K+. 2nd year was quite bad, and 30K is probably rather generous. Wisconsin was travel weary (on their way to making their 3rd straight Rose Bowl) and had 2 teams on probation in front of them. Nebraska was well represented but it's not a day trip for them.

Packing the house seems to require a Michigan or Ohio State in the game. Sparty travels well but just doesn't have as broad of a fan base.

Chicago would definitely have more local fans, but getting them to show up isn't guaranteed. And Soldier Field's natural grass condition is often criticized come December and beyond.

Sounds like Rutgers really. Although State definitely has a broader fanbase than we do. I recall our 2004 matchup with them quite well and there were a number of their fans here in Piscataway. Bowl games are generally very happy to invite us from a tickets sold, hotel rooms booked point of view which is mainly what they care about.
