You shouldn't have to worry, they don't let them get that big anymore. My first year in school '98 they had four that were 9' or bigger. They started breeding and then they removed them. Now they don't let them get over 6'.

Funny thing is it's not the gators I'm worried about it's sinking up to my neck in silty mud that would make me nervous
