The contract extension is only for one extra year (see the Blade quote from 2 years ago). I know that the 278K number came from the Blade's survey of UT salaries. Not sure that's correct. She was at 193K two seasons ago (see below) which is her base, or what they would have to pay a coach that is let go with time remaining on the contract. Add in other guaranteed money (marketing etc.) and you may add another 30-50K. Then she will get money for a division title, MAC title, advancing in the WNIT, attendance and team goals like GPA.


Mr. O’Brien told The Blade that Cullop’s new contract would run through the 2019-2020 season and increase her annual base salary from $180,000 to $193,600.

Well if that is all she is getting she is underpaid imho

That's from the extension she got after '11 and the WNIT Championship.
