Coach O has proven during his tenure at UCF that he will not shy away from yanking his QB or RB when they are not playing well. I would not be surprised one bit if Gabbert gets playing time this season the moment Bortles fails to quit throwing untimely picks.

I doubt it. Bortles is the clear-cut #1. For once there is no QB controversy.

Gabbert looked shaky in his mop-up duty vs Akron.

Between Bortles, Godfrey, and Calabrese, we finally have the tools to have a truly potent offense... and it's not the hurry up air raid like the rest of the nation!

I think... Gabbert better be learning Calabrese's role on the field (i.e. Wild Knight / Placeholder) because if Bortles tweaks the few (but serious) mistakes he is making on the field, he will be a 3 year starter, something UCF hasn't had... in a long time. (Greco, Israel, Calabrese, Hodges...)
