First, the Big East has been chasing Air Force and Navy for several years and they have one, they want the other -- this isn't a matter of opinion or upside or whatever else you want to argue, it's direct from the directive of the Big East Presidents and AD's.

Second, whoever said Navy doesn't have female cheerleaders is dead wrong - they do so!

Third, whoever was talking about Navy being unable to compete and becoming like Army -- well Navy plays Notre Dame YEARLY and I think has beat them three of the last five years, plus they have been to bowls 9 of the last 10 seasons.

Fourth, if you listened to Big East officials during the Temple and Memphis conference calls, you know they'll be announcing a #14 before television talks start in September.

Fifth, the Big East's expansion committee headed by Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick is pushing continually on Brigham Young and Air Force still for membership. The conference to my knowledge has not mentioned any other program officially in their sight.

Right. It's going to be Air Force if the conference can get them, and with Navy joining, four or five western schools in their division, a major upgrade in revenue regardless of whether they go from 1 million to five or six or seven or whatever million, they just might. I wouldn't even completely rule out BYU after they find themselves in another Armed Forces or Kraft Hunger Bowl. I have no problem with Fresno (actually, UH has a recruiting ace on the staff whose home turf is Fresno), but Air Force and BYU would enhance the TV deal much more.
