He is still a .500 coach with a two year resume. Could definitely see this being their breakout year but until then Butch's resume is much more impressive.
Is it? I think Butch is a really good coach and I am happy with him, but I'm not sure his results have been all that impressive so far.
I think Strong has done at UL almost exactly what Jones has done at UC with much less.
Both are really good coaches though and the future is bright.
However, you are only looking at BJ in the BEast, while these others are not being looked at the same way.
True, but my post was meant to compare 2 BEast coaches so it makes sense to compare them based on how they've fared in this league over the same period. If you want to compare Jones to Peterson or someone else, I can see looking at the total body of work in all conferences because there is no obvious comparison on a level playing field. It seems silly to try to compare Butch Jones at CMU to Charlie Strong at Florida.
The article was going by overall resumes, which Butch definitely has on Strong. Besides, much of Strong's praise is relative to the roster he took over, and anyone that really paid attention to UC's roster from 2009 to 2010 knew it had huge holes left by Kelly.
