the big deal would be that the league teams having potentially 24 more loses beating up each other rather than playing something OOC and all getting 3 wins. It may also mean more limits to OOC opponents each team can pick for its schedule. Does one play more mediocre teams outside to make sure it can get to the desired number of wins in the end? Or play an insanely tough schedule hoping that your team would be "battle-tested" and be rewarded by the selection committee for doing so? Also, some seem to think the 18-game schedule will hurt the chances of the "bubble teams" getting selected come March.

I just don't understand why we can't play everyone once while having one home-and-home rivalry intact, which by the way, is exactly what the women's side is doing. 03-confused
