RE: 12 Cities That Deserve an NFL Expansion Team

I haven't come close to going to any game locally since. That includes the cudas, steeldogs, & any other rag tag organization.
The NFL wouldn't fly here because #1 There wouldn't be enough corporate money involved & #2 nobody could afford the ticket prices. & most importantly #3 It would divert attention from certain holy college football programs.
The NFL doesn't give a flying you know what about the University of Alabama football team. If Birmingham could support a team and have it be profitable, the NFL would move there immediately. College football has rabid fan bases in very few areas. We just happen to be in one of these areas. Don't let that twist your view of how powerful the NFL is. Goodell could tell Obama he wanted to take a sh!t on the White House lawn or he'd cancel the NFL season, and Obama would have to send somebody out there with a pooper scooper or risk ticking off a large segment of voters.
I've seen multiple reports on this over the years, and the truth is Birmingham would struggle with an NFL team because of its size. The college football thing definitely doesn't help this. All the studies I have read seem to indicate a professional baseball team may succeed in Birmingham, but the other pro sports would likely struggle. I don't know who would want to buy an NFL franchise and put it in Birmingham, because it would be a huge risk. I'm not saying it couldn't work, because every study in history has not been correct, but I'd be pretty shocked if it did.
