However, your statement isn't completely correct. Just last year WMU was picked to finish 4th in the West, behind Ball St., CMU and EMU. They finished 1st and played very well all year. The year before (Kool's senior year), they were picked to finish 5th in the West. They ended the year with a either a tie for first, or a second place finish. They lost in the semi's against Akron by 2.

One could actually say that Hawkins overacheived significantly during the previous 2 seasons. His Broncos have definately underacheived this year. 3 OT losses in conference and a host of injuries have contributed to a kick in the crotch this year. And yes, he deserves some blame for our late game collapses.
