BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE EXPANSION
UPDATE: Longwood joins Big South Conference
[Image: longwood%2Blancers.jpeg]

FARMVILLE, Va. --
Longwood University on Monday afternoon announced at an on-campus press conference that it will become the Big South Conference’s 12th member on July 1. The league also includes Virginia schools VMI, Radford and Liberty.

The Lancers have competed on the Division I level since 2007, but have done so as an independent. Longwood’s inclusion in the Big South will limit travel time and allow access to league championships and automatic bids to NCAA championships, among other advantages
