RE: The East Carolina Boxer Syndrome
I am not sure how people are thinking that we are suffering from being a young team and not having the right players for the offense. Receivers should know how to run routes and make catches. It has nothing to do with not having the right players. Youth is an excuse. We had nothing but freshman and sophomores last year that are now sophomores and Juniors this year. Guys making hand and arm tackles is a result of lack of coaching/discipline.

I have noticed that our Running backs are smaller (180lbs), our offensive and defensive lines are smaller too. If people remember, this is exactly the sized players JT recruited. How is a 250 lb. offensive lineman going to block out a 310lb defensive lineman? How is a 260lb defensive lineman going to push around a 300lb offensive lineman. To me this offense is a disaster. TT never really ever excelled into the upper echelon of the Big 12. They were never really in contention for a Big 12 title or BCS bowl. They did this for 10 years and got to beat Texas one year. I don't think this style of offense is good for us. When UTEP's horrid D can shut down our offense and Budd Foster can out coach our whole staff, then we are in trouble. I saw the same signs with JT.
