I don't like his anti-Syracuse stance, but when he evaluates the rest of college basketball I find him fairly insightful and usually agree with him rather than I disagree. He's a jerk, but he's a pretty knowledgeable jerk. Honestly, with all the ignorant people on ESPN, Gottlieb would be pretty low on my complaint list. I'm able to disassociate my own team from analyst opinions though, so I'm not exactly a normal fan. Life's too short to hold grudges against talking heads on TV.

I agree that some fans can get too worked up about an analyst. I wouldn't bother emailing one for example. I do think ESPN has told him to play the college basketball heel though to use wrestling lingo.

The guy has about 15 teams in the tournament if you really listed to him. No one else deserves in, and those 15 are all on the bubble. I'm more sure after Saturday that he does it for the reactions, as opposed to honest evaluation. I explictly heard him say around 1:55pm Saturday that UofL had work to do, but that if they beat Syracuse they are a lock. Cue up the tape because around 4pm, he says that UofL got a nice win, but still have work to do. Ignoring that everyone else in the studio told him he's flat out wrong... he openly moved the finish line so to speak over the course of 2 hours. I say just for the hate emails.
